Maybe the two women's protest wasn't as effective as it could be, but I still think the two were brave to do this. They took a huge risk and I want to commend them for their effort!

This is about the action taken by Miriam and Cat. Why did they lock themselves inside the VC, rather than outside? It was easy for NPS to just close the VC so people could not see it. Did they plan it well? Why not on the front porch of the VC, with large posters/signs for all to read. Why not at a time when there would be more people to see it happen? I agree with their 'demands', except I think the NPS should remain a part of the IBMP--to have a say in what happens. If the NPS withdrew, and if DOL was the only hazing/capture group, they would treat the bison with much less regard than NPS. I've seen the difference between West hazing and North hazing. When NPS is involved, as heinous as the hazing/capture is, at least they move the bison slowly and gently.

I think the NPS should not be part of hazing except to monitor the DOL. I also think the Stephens Creek facility (some folks call it 'biswicz'--a play on Auswicz) should be moved completely off YNP lands.
Best scenario, of course, would be allowing bison to roam freely without being tested, all the way up to Yankee Jim.
