Mike Mease reports that cattle are gone from CUT property and there is news today that there will be a “historic announcement” tomorrow in Bozeman by Governor Brian Schweitzer and Yellowstone Park Superintendent Suzanne Lewis.
What does this mean? I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.
Here is an article from the AP in the Billings Gazette:

I think I’ve just been buffaloed!

No, the cattle have been removed and a deal with the CUT is being negotiated by organizations and agencies other than BFC. I suspect that the big announcement tomorrow is regarding this deal. This deal has been discussed frequently in the press recently too.

I read the article. Thanks. This is good news for the buffalo but they’re still not in the clear. Only a limited number of buffalo could venture out and not be killed. Anyway, I can’t wait to hear what the governor and Suzanne have to say.

If this deal is like described in the article then it is little different than what happens on Horse Butte. All of the buffalo that leave the Park there are fair game for hazing, capture, test, and slaughter if they test positive with their inaccurate antibody test.
